Chow Bio
Gary Chow, District 5150
 
As a retired public health/patient educator with the American Cancer Society and Kaiser Permanente, Gary has had a distinguished career in public health and community service.  On a local level, he has served on the Boards of The American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, US Selective Service, California Public Health Association and was appointed to be a Napa Public Access Cable TV Commissioner.  On a National level, he has served on advisory committees with the American Public Health Association, Lung Cancer Alliance, National Cancer Institute and the United Ostomy Association of America.
 
Gary joined the Rotary Club of South San Francisco in 2009.  He has served in many capacities with his club, including Membership Chair, Programs Chair, Foundation Chair, Board member and Club President. 
 
On a District level, he has served as District Service Programs Chair, Assistant Governor, District TRF Annual Fund, EREY/Paul Harris Society Chairs, District Chief of Staff, and will be District Governor for 2022-23.  
 
He also lends his expertise as a member of the Health and Wellness Rotary Action Group and Polio Survivor Rotary Action Group.  Gary is also a member of the International Fellowship of Rotary Educators.
 
Gary is a member of the Paul Harris Society, Bequest Society, White Hat Society, PolioPlus Society and is a Benefactor.
 
When he is not busy volunteering, Gary enjoys his family, attending musical theater, recreational shopping and pretty much anything that has to do with food.
