Jim Marggraffis a serial inventor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, speaker, and an energized dad and husband.

From 1994-2017, Jim founded and co-founded six Silicon Valley technology companies, and has now founded his seventh, Kinoo.com, already receiving awards from the top annual award from AARP Innovation Labs and CES AR Award.  His companies and inventions include fast-packet switching, Stratacom (co-founder), the Odyssey Atlasphere at Explore Technologies (co-founder) the LeapFrog LeapPad (co-founder), the Livescribe Smartpen (founder), and eye-tracking technology, Eyefluence (co-founder) that he recently sold to Google. He holds 56 issued patents, is an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, one of MIT’s top 150 inventors, and was declared a Father of the Year by the National Father’s Day Council. 
 
Jim was a STAR Humanitarian Award Recipient and recognized as the 2018 Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Lamorinda.  He recently spoke on education and technology to over 30,000 Rotarians, and led Rotary International to adopt Virtual Reality, in a partnership with Google, to address peace and polio, setting a world record with over 3,000 simultaneous, co-located VR viewers.  With a team of Rotarians, Jim recently co-founded The Global Impact Group, a new non-profit helping organizations adopt technology for social impact.
 
He has been on the TED main stage twice, has been covered by the NY Times, WSJ, The Atlantic, USA Today, Entrepreneur, The New Yorker, Fortune, Wired, Yahoo News,, The Rotarian, and hundreds of other periodicals, conferences, blogs and broadcast media including Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Bloomberg, Fox, CNN and more.
 
Jim’s recent book, “How to Raise a Founder with Heart” has been recognized by Forbes as a best book for startup founders and first time entrepreneurs, and was quoted by Tony Robbins as “A tremendous pleasure to read.  Jim has nailed it”.
 
He is currently advising MoJo Vision, Foresight Mental Health and Jibb, and is on the boards or advising nonprofits The Gratitude Network, Team Gleason, The Global Impact Group, and OneShared.World.
