Sandy Matsui, Governor-Elect - District 5000
Sandy has been a proud member of the Rotary Club of Kāneʻohe since 1992. After she served as Club President in 2011-012, her Rotary journey led to new adventures serving District 5000 as Assistant Governor for three years, District Secretary, District Trainer and as a member of the Host Organizing Committee for the Rotary International Convention that was scheduled to be held in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi in 2020.
Sandy entered her professional career journey wanting to make a difference and began directing programs at California State University, Bakersfield fulfilling her passion to expand opportunities for underrepresented students to gain access to and graduate from college. In 1992, her journey brought her to Hawaiʻi to serve as the Dean of Students at Windward Community College, University of Hawaiʻi. Currently, she serves as a faculty member at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa advising student leaders who govern, manage and run college media programs. She feels fortunate to be able to continue to make a difference in her professional life working with college students, as well as her life as a Rotarian serving the community and the world.
