Daniels Bio
Anita Daniels, Governor-Elect, District 5190

Anita joined Rotary in 1994 and is a member of the Rotary Club of Grass Valley.  She has served in many capacities at the club level and was club president in 2011-2012.  At the district level she has served as chair for the Group Study Exchange, and Alumni, as co-chair for the House of Friendship and Sergeant-at-Arms, and served on the District Grants committee.  She served as Assistant Governor for Area 4 from 2018-2020.  Anita is a member of the Paul Harris Society, Bequest Society and a Paul Harris Fellow +4.

Anita enjoyed 55 years in banking and retired in 2017. Her career took her all over California as a Vice President in branch management.  She learned the importance of “Service Above Self” having volunteered in numerous community organizations including Chamber of Commerce, United Way, the local college foundation and many more.  She is currently serving on three local non-profit boards in Grass Valley besides Rotary.

Anita has been married to her high school sweetheart, Don, for 57 years.  Don is a retired state traffic officer from the California Highway Patrol.  They have two children and six grandchildren.  Don and daughter Kris are also Rotarians and past presidents of the Grass Valley club.  The family enjoys boating, horses, music, travel, working on community projects, and just hanging around together.

A “Rotary Moment” would certainly be a recent trip to Ensenada with 23 other Rotarians on a Thousand Smiles grant project (a cleft palate surgery center).  “The work we did there, certainly will change lives for the better”.
