Desiree Wilson, Governor-Elect, District 5180
 
 
Desirée joined the Rotary Club of Point West – Sacramento in 2009.  She served on the club’s Board of Directors (International Service), served as club Secretary and then as President in 2016-17.   At the district level: she served three years as an Assistant Governor and served as the Chair of the District’s May 2019 district conference.  Desirée also served on the District Foundation Committee as the Annual Giving Officer and was the Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the District’s Human Trafficking Initiative.
 
Desirée owned a small chain of Hallmark Card stores in Sacramento and Napa for 17 years.  She also had a 20-year career with the State of California in a variety of executive positions and retired from the State in 2016.
 
Desirée is currently single with no children.  She has one sibling and a nephew who she is very close with.  She lives in Sacramento and her passions are golf and cycling.
 
Her most memorable Rotary experiences have been the opportunity to travel to India on a polio immunization trip, to be a counselor at RYLA for two years and to ride 100 miles and raise almost $50,000 for Polio Plus in the Ride to End Polio in Tucson.
